With over 20 years of experience across luxury retail, hotel, residential and commercial projects, SLINC is a design agency with extensive projects throughout Greater China. With clients ranging from top-tier fashion houses like Saint Laurent Paris and Celine, to luxury property development, SLINC is a Hong Kong-based boutique architectural agency where luxury is in the detail and quality is never compromised.

The agency was founded in 2011 by Sue Loughry and Madeleine Ashwin, both interior designers with a passion for both the technical innovation and superlative design. Having both originated from Australia with Interior Design degrees, the design duo has gained invaluable experience in Europe and Asia from which they have both gained global perspective mixed with local knowledge, authority and expertise.

The foundation of Sue’s career was entrenched in luxury from the beginning, forging an illustrious career with intense precision and the obsession to detail that comes with it. From 1993 to 2002 Sue managed the store build process for French luxury house Louis Vuitton, expanding a network of boutiques across Asia Pacific and Greater China, working with the Paris-based design team and local consultants to create architectural and tender options for store development for which Asia was the leader.

In 2002 Sue was promoted to the role of Global Events Director, based in Paris, spear-heading the brand’s much-lauded, hyperscale events including the now legendary 150th anniversary celebrations in Tokyo, Hong Kong, New York.

In 2006 she returned to Hong Kong to join luxury fashion retailer Lane Crawford as Director of Store Planning, working with a design team to realize the Lane Crawford Department Stores in China and Hong Kong. 2 years later Loughry established SLINC with Lane Crawford remaining a client with continued collaboration.

With both design prowess and the innate understanding of spaces and customer experience, Sue brings a unique eye for detail that can only come from years of luxury brand experience.

Like Sue, Madeleine also has a wealth of global experience. Following her graduation from the University of South Australia, she spent 4 years in London working with 2 of London’s most creative agencies Murdochs and Tilney Pike Shane, with an emphasis on retail and airport projects

Upon returning to Australia in 1987, she had a number of years working with Underline Design Group, a multi discipline design group in Sydney before heading to Hong Kong in 1993.

For 8 years Madeleine held the position of Interior Design Director for DCM Studios and before that at Woods Bagot, both highly respected international architectural practices in Hong Kong where she gained extensive Asia Pacific experience with blue chip corporate, retail, hospitality and residential projects. Renowned clients include Cathay Pacific, Peninsula Hotels, Mandarin Oriental, HSBC and currently some of the luxury retail brands.

Madeleine works in both a design and project management capacity, with a particular eye for detail and a commitment to ensuring that quality is not compromised throughout the building process.
